Smell Like Your Favorite Celebrity

Have you ever dreamed of smelling like Jessica Simpson or having your boyfriend or husband smell like Patrick “Dr. McDreamy” Dempsey?  Well, your wish is about to come true thanks to the aforementioned celebrities and their desire to expand their empires.  Dempsey and Simpson are among the newest stars to venture into the fragrance market.

Simpson already has a signature undergarment collection, but apparently she wanted women to have something sweet smelling to spritz on themselves while they walked around in their lingerie.  The singer’s new fragrance is named “Fancy” and it is available in most major department stores.  The perfume joins Simpson’s vast line of existing self-named products including eyewear, purses, jewelry, clip-in hair extensions, bath and body care items, outerwear and footwear.  If you are really obsessed with the songstress turned reality TV star consider dousing yourself in her new fragrance and donning one of her new dresses.  According to reports, the star just inked a deal for a full line of dresses slated to launch in Spring 2009 in department and specialty stores.

Meanwhile, you can sweeten your dreams by purchasing Avon’s newest scent for males created by Dempsey.  The “Grey’s Anatomy” star recently unveiled his signature scent dubbed “Unscripted.” The actor turned fragrance designer says the cologne features notes of cardamom, black peppercorn, fig and lavender.  At the debut of his new scent Dempsey told reporters that he was determined to create a fragrance that was “classic but still clean, elegant and modern without it being too overwhelming.” The TV star also revealed that he did get help in creating the scent from his makeup-artist wife Jillian Dempsey, who is Avon’s global creative color director.

Dempsey and Simpson will face stiff competition in the fragrance market in the near future, as other celebrity inspired scents are getting ready to be launched.  Tim McGraw, Paris Hilton, David Beckham, Jennifer Aniston, and Antonio Banderas are among the Hollywood hotties unveiling new scents this fall.
