Celebrities Target Budget Conscious Buyers
Super star designer Alexander McQueen may soon become even more popular than he already is. Fashionistas, who have to keep a close eye on their budgets, can rejoice now that the top-rated fashion designer has agreed to create a new collection for Target.
In a recent interview with news reporters, McQueen revealed his motivations behind teaming up with the budget-friendly retail store. According to McQueen, he wanted his work to be accessible to all women despite their budgets.
McQ Alexander McQueen for Target will reportedly include runway designs modified for the average American. The pieces will top out in price at $130. That’s a far cry from his traditional designs, which typically cost in the tens of thousands of dollars.

But McQueen is not the only star making clothing affordable for frugal fashionistas. American Idol winner turned fashion designer Jordin Sparks is also unveiling a new line of clothes targeted at budget conscious divas.
The singer’s new collection will be sold at Wet Seal stores nationwide and is appropriately called “Sparks.” The line includes a variety of dresses, as well as casual apparel and accessories. Sparks says she is especially excited to design for younger women, who don’t mind experimenting with fashion.
The collection will reportedly focus on youthful designs such as cheetah-print dresses, colorful tanks, and hip skirts. All the items in Sparks’ new line will reportedly range in size from XS to XL and be priced from $30-55.
The singer says if her new collection does well she hopes to expand the line to include handbags, footwear and perhaps jewelry. However, just because she is foraying into the world of fashion, Sparks says it doesn’t mean she is giving up her day job. The powerhouse singer says she plans to continue recording new music regardless of how well her new fashion collection does in stores.
