I shared my fatherhood experiences and compared those to some of the extreme journalist assignments I've been on.

And now it's your turn, do you think having kids is like an extreme sport?

Chris, having kids is definitely an extreme sport! I have five and it's like constant motion and I feel like I'm dangling from a rope most days. smile

I think putting an infant to bed can be an extreme sport. Sometimes they get so tired they don't know their tired. They only know they are crying, and unhappy, and need to keep crying. You just sit there rocking and hope they fall asleep.

I believe that being a parent is the toughest and most rewarding job that any parent will ever have. I use the word job because that is what it is. It is hard work. It can also be terrifying because we are all wondering if we are doing the right things for our children. Unfortunately children don't come with an instruction manual, you just have to go with your gut instant to determine if you are getting it right. Giving them as much love as you possibly can is the best place to start, everything else will fall into line.

WHich is why I am so shocked that so many parents think they know it all and make you feel like a failure if you aren't doing things their way.
