I think that for many of them it is a natural transition to advance their careers. They are looked at as style and trend setters so it would make sense that they would be putting their names on their own brand of clothing. However, with so many of them doing it I think they need to have somewhat of a unique style to stand out above the rest of the crowd. Otherwise people become immune to the celebrity name that is on the clothing and don't pay too much attention to it. If they want to make their line popular they need to offer the products that people want at the prices they can afford.
