Braun 300 watt Hand Blender with Accessories– A Product Review
I can’t remember when we purchased our Braun Hand Blender. I have a feeling it was a few years ago, just after my husband graduated from culinary school. At the time, I remember balking at the close to $100 price tag for something that seemed like such a simple appliance. However, the years have proved this product to be a purchase that was well worth every cent.
I tried looking up the Braun Hand Blender (300 watts) and its attachments today. It seems that I’m fairly out of the loop. It also seems that Braun has gone on to make more powerful hand blenders than the one I have. Mine came with a blender wand attachment, a whisk beater attachment, a graduated clear plastic cylinder for measuring, a small clear plastic bowl with a rubberized base, a small mini chopping blade for the bowl and a durable white plastic lid. From what I could see, the same attachments come with newer models of this product.
This small appliance has been a real godsend for our family. When we want to puree a soup while it is still in the pot, out comes our Braun Hand Blender. We simply plug it in and go… and in no time flat, we have a nice smooth soup right in the pot. This is much easier (and safer) than trying to pick up a hot pot full of simmered tomatoes and trying to pour them into a blender or food processor. The other attachments have been equally handy.

We regularly blend mince raw vegetables as an addition to our dogs’ dry food in the mini-chopping bowl. Sometimes we decide to make a spontaneous marinade in the mini-bowl. A bit of oil, vinegar and spices; a moment of blending, and we have a simple but delicious marinade for our supper.
I discovered the beauty of the mini-whisk just the other day. Rather than spending half an hour trying to vigorously beat some eggs and sugars by hand for a quick bread recipe, I whipped out the whisk and beat my eggs and yogurt into a delightful froth in mere minutes.
This hand blender has been a true helpmate in the kitchen. It has made it easier to do so many things, while taking on the constant demands that a chef’s family can make. I highly recommend it in your kitchen or as a gift for someone you know.
