Pamper Your Princess

As kids get older, family vacations don’t always mean spending quality time together, but Loews Hotels, known for its Loews Loves Kids program, has added yet another family-friendly amenity to its roster: spa packages for kids. Spas at hotels in Coronado and Santa Monica, Calif., Tucson, Ariz., and Las Vegas now offer the chance for kids and parents to be pampered together. After all, a family that spas together stays together.

Loews Coronado Bay Resort pulled out all the stops with a spa room and beach-inspired teen lounge outfitted by Pottery Barn’s PBteen, with extras such as iChairs and Nintendo Wii. In the spa, the Golden Goddess package ($175) includes a 25-minute green tea and ginger facial; an organic full-body spray-on tan; and a pedicure with minerals and flowers. Programs and treatments on the adult menu can also be made teen-friendly (a couple’s massage can easily become a best friends’ massage, Aveda hair treatments can revive chlorine-filled hair, and more).

At Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, the Green Tea package is perfect for those just entering their teen years, with a 30-minute massage, a holistic salt-mousse body scrub and an island-inspired pedicure. Teens will walk away with product samples and advice about healthy skincare.

Not all packages are meant for teens, though. Kids 12 and under can spend a Mini Moulay Little Spa Day at the Salon Moulay at Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort. The $160 package includes a “Princess Updo,” a makeup application, a manicure or pedicure, a kid-friendly lunch and a “mocktail.”

Closer to home, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Ariz., offers the Queen for a Day package ($150) with a prom-worthy updo complete with tiara; lip gloss application and tips; and Cinderella-inspired manicure and pedicure treatments.
